Red Oak Static Recurve

Figured I'd put up one of my bows. It's a 40 pound at 32 inches, red oak static recurve with maple siyahs and string bridges. It's a good little bow for teaching the mongolian release, and my personal favorite for messing around in the garage.

Shooting three fingers, and pulling back to only 28 inches (about 30 pounds or so), this is one of my favorite backyard shooters. It flings arrows like nobody's business. It is unbacked and has no belly laminations, only the siyahs. It's taken a lot of set, but the siyahs put it at a net string follow of -2 inches, which is fine by me.

Those string bridges also give me a nice little built in bow stand, great for the archery range so I don't have to lay it on the ground. Overall, a nice little bow. Will be posting up more bows soon. This bow was inspired by the bows often used in competition in Mongolia today.
