Denim Pen

Heh. I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but I figured since I treated it like wood, woodworking was where it would go. I've had the idea for a while after seeing this picture, [link] , and finding this tutorial soon after, [link] .
However, I had a thought... How about instead of stacking the denim, why not wrap it around the tubes. it was a great idea, but I never got aroudn to it. So tonight I did it quick with CA (super) glue, and turned it down. It actually turns quite well, although the ends tend to fray a bit when sanded... >____< In any case, I'm hoping to try this again. It was fun, it turned well, and the denim pen almost looks like it was made from some kind of strange alien stone.

Yups. And just cause I feel like giving credit, I have to thank my friend Alix for giving me all her old, worn-out Levi jeans so I could do this. Yups. And I feel really now that I have made something, because it was very hard to explain to my friends as to why I had a bag of used girl's jeans on my shelf. >_____<
